Watch how comedian-actresses Eugene Domingo and Karen Delos Reyes reacted after being called by their wrong surnames in their TV guesting.
In 2013, during her guesting in the ABS-CBN talk show The Buzz to promote her movie Tuhog, Eugene Domingo reacted hilariously after being called ‘Eugene Dominguez’ by the host Toni Gonzaga.
Gonzaga was already doing the outro when she mistakenly mentioned Eugene’s surname as ‘Dominguez.’
“Tama ka sa Eugene Dominguez eh ha, Toni Gonzales, tama ka naman dun eh,” Domingo quipped.
Upon realizing her mistake, Gonzaga burst out laughing while Domingo continued to banter about it.
“Ang ganda oh, ang labo kausap neto. Akala ko ba close tayo, kung makapuri ka tapos Eugene Dominguez. Ano ‘to ila-live ba natin ‘to? Ay jusko magcocomment ako!,” Domingo added.
“Kasi nga Leo Martinez, Empress, Jake Cuenca, Enchong Dee, and Eugene Domingo — pinagsama ko yung Leo Martinez,” Gonzaga explained.
Despite Toni’s explanation, Eugene continued to quip about the blooper.
“Ayun oh, nasa tapat mo Eugene Domingo, andito Eugene Domingo, nakakaloka Toni Gonzales naku! Ay tamang-tama talagang tupperware ang sponsor mo. Ano to?”
While Eugene Domingo addressed the mistake laughably, Karen Delos Reyes became peevish when the same thing happened to her.
When Delos Reyes played in the GMA Network reality show Extra Challenge, host Boobay mistakenly pronounced her surname as ‘Delos Santos’.
Karen then corrected Boobay immediately, “Hoy, Delos Reyes!” she yelled.
Boobay kept on calling Karen with the wrong surname so, the latter got agitated then smacked and pushed the comedian.
“Karen Delos Reyes, ayan, bawal ang ugaling aso dito sa game na ‘to,” Boobay said.
“Akala mo nagbibiro ako, after nito umayos ka,” Karen warned.
“Aba nagbabanta si Karen Delos Reyes, akala niya naman ‘di ko siya hahamunin,” Boobay said.
Boobay then did a roll call of the players and tried to give another player, Buhawi “Buwi” Meneses, the wrong surname but, the said player did not react. So, Boobay compared Karen’s reaction to Buwi’s.
“Tignan mo, ‘di nagalit si Buwi, ikaw ang arte-arte mo sa pangalan mo,” Boobay told Karen.
“Anong maarte, apelyido ng tatay ko ‘yun,” Karen replied.
“Wala akong pake,” Boobay added.
With this, Karen confronted Boobay even during their taping.
“Ayoko ng ganun, hindi ako nagbibiro. Sa lahat ng ano dito sa showbiz, kapag namamali ayoko,” Karen expressed.
But, her explanation did not sit well with Boobay as the comedian insisted that Karen was exaggerating things. Karen then cursed Boobay on TV.
As their argument heated up, host Marian Rivera approached and mediated the two.
Delos Reyes’ last TV appearance was in Eugene Domingo’s show ‘Dear Uge’, where she played Ashley Cruz in the ‘Faking Girls’ episode.
