Not satisfied with Boy Abunda’s one-on-one Presidential Interviews? There are more ABS-CBN venues the Network can offer

On Wednesday, January 26, the much-awaited interview with Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. by Boy Abunda only left personalities unsatisfied, but there is more than ABS-CBN can offer.

The interviews, however, were not envisioned to be a debate format.

He stressed earlier that he aims to ask questions and not act like a journalist.

“It’s very challenging. It’s very daunting… I leave it to the journalists. Wala naman akong ilusyon na ako ay journalist. I am an interviewer. I don’t know if people would understand that, but… I am an inquisitor. I interview people, I ask questions,” Abunda said.

Twitter personality Mac Zamora said, “Sa interview ni Abunda, s’ya ang bida! Mas madami s’yang kuda kesa mga bisita.”

Difference between a journo and a talk show host is knowing when something is not up for debate (or binary choices). To reduce this to true or false is to deny it ever happened.

Thousands were detained, tortured and killed during Marcos Sr.'s martial law rule and that's fact. https://t.co/Im4lx5ywqt

Ako na magsasabi ha bilang resident pot-stirrer niyo. GMA7 gave us their best for their presidential interviews. Tapos ABS-CBN, can only come up with Boy Abunda??? Like, dude!!! What's not clicking???

To put it simply, Mr. Boy Abunda, para gets mo, when there’s a rape victim and you ask the rapist if it’s true that he raped the victim, what does that make you? And how does that affect the victim? Isang kalupitan.

But there are already Kapamilya programs highlighting the presidential candidates’ thought processes.

TV personality Justin Dizon mentioned established broadcast journalists who would discuss stuff with the aspirants.

ABS-CBN News Channel’s (ANC) Karmina Constantino via Date Line Philippines. She already had sat with Sen. Ping Lacson regarding the latter’s presidential bid.

In Christian Esguerra’s Facts First podcast, he sat down with presidential aspirant and labor leader Leody de Guzman to share his platforms if elected President, as well as the controversies he is involved with.

Nung Disyembre, pinagpiyestahan ng mighty netizens si @LeodyManggagawa dahil sa “magarbong” Christmas family photo samantalang labor leader daw sya.

Meanwhile, multi-awarded broadcast journalist Karen Davila will serve as moderator in the upcoming KBP member-networks (ABS-CBN, TV5/One News, CNN Philippines, DZRH, Bombo Radyo) via her very own presidential forum on February 4.

She will be hosting the event with Rico Hizon. TV5’s Ed Lingao will serve as part of the panelists.
