On Monday, February 28, controversial filmmaker Darryl Yap and other BBM propagandists were roasted on social media for purposely looking for the swimming pool in the Iloilo Sports Complex where the political gathering of the presidential aspirant and incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo was held.
Apparently, in an aerial shot taken by the media, the pool was nowhere to be found.
On his facebook, Yap wrote, “Nasaan daw yung Swimming pool?”
Singer and supporter of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Richard Poon also ridiculed the thousands of Ilonggos who attended the grand rally of Robredo.
He filled his facebook post with yellow hearts, associating the VP as a “dilawan.”
Other BBM propagandists also joined in the “search.”
However, Macoy Estrella, a twitter personality hit back at them by revealing where the pool was situated: at the back of the stage.
He tweeted, “Eto na yung pool na hinahanap ni Darryl Yap.”

It also confused other netizens as to why critics of Robredo were trying to insinuate an issue out of it.
Bakit nya hinanap yung pool?

Some even attacked Yap’s gender.

A netizen even stressed that the filmmaker found the time to look for a pool but was “blind” for supporting Marcos who is a tax evader.
Wala po sigurong pool si kuya daryl 😄😄😄
Yung pool hinahanap pero yung apat na taon na hindi nagbabayad ng buwis, move on lang? Mga buang talaga!

Another netizen argued that the filmmaker should look for Marcos who was the number one absentee in presidential debates and interviews.
hahahah bakit ba swimming pool hinahanap nila sabihin niyo kamo hanapin nila mona si Jr kc nagtatago at palaging absent sa debate 😜😜😜

There were also rumors surrounding the event that its attendees were “forced” to participate. This was clarified by Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas who estimated that 40,000 strong Ilonggos have joined the political gathering.
“Nobody out of the 40,000 who attended was forced, required, or paid. People are from different sectors who crave good governance, that’s why it felt like a movement rather than just a campaign,” he said.
The event was also attended by Ogie Diaz, Cherry Pie Picache, Edu Manzano, Sharon Cuneta, and Ely Buendia, among the celebrities.
Back in 2016, during the vice presidential race, Robredo won over Marcos Jr. in Iloilo City. She enjoyed a wide margin garnering 137,662 votes against her rival’s 33,778 votes.
