The Kapamilya actress dominated the local twitter trends after releasing a charming video statement on April 25 in support of VP Leni Robredo’s presidential bid.
Nadine Lustre took the comic and lighthearted route in expressing her support for Vice President Leni Robredo’s presidential bid.
Following her first appearance in a Leni-Kiko Pampanga rally on April 6, Lustre, or ‘President Nadine’ for her fans, affirmed further her support via an official endorsement video.

“My kababayan—a message from your President,” she said as an opening, before blurting out “Charot!”
“It’s time for a new president,” she continued.
Lustre likened her own experience to what VP Robredo, did in the past six years.
“I went through all of it. From bashers, intriga, to fake news, left and right… Kinaya ko naman (I luckily survived all of it)” she said.
“Pero gusto ko din naman ng peace of mind (That said, I’m still hoping to have a peace of mind)” she clarified. She then went on to assure her fans, or should her “constituents” that the one who will replace her is a qualified candidate.
“I know someone who went through worse. Bashers, intriga, fake news, for the past six years,” she said, while screenshots of various fake news about VP Robredo were being flashed in the background.
Like her, President Nadine noted that regardless of the difficulties VP Robredo, “… still served tirelessly, faithfully, and wholeheartedly…dahil alam niyang deserve nating mga Pilipino (because she knows what Filipinos deserve).
“Kapag mahal ka, babalikan ka (If you are loved, they will come back yo you)” she said, as she the same line made popular by her character in the phenomenal TV series, On The Wings of Love.
“Lahat naman tayo gusto ng tahimik na buhay di ba? Kaya ako, tataya ako sa best president who can give us that…(Don’t we all want a peacefuil life? Thats why I am placing my bet on someone who can give us that…),” she argued before doing a hair flip, which VP Robredo simultaneously mimicked.
“Come on, guys, it’s 2022!” she said, which is yet another nod to her viral statement in 2017.
“Walang mas qualified na maging susunod na Presidente kundi si President Leni Robredo. Madam Leni, I got you! (There is no one else more qualified to become the next president than President Leni Robredo. Madam Leni, I Got You!” she reassured.
On twitter, the hashtag #PresNadine4PresLeni quickly found its way to the top of local trends, with many commending the ingenuity of her approach in delivering her statement of support.
