Palanca-award-winning writer Jerry Gracio reacted to the parody campaign video of Ai Ai Delas Alas in a tweet on Saturday, April 30.
The said the video showed Delas Alas portraying the role of Hon. Ligaya Delmonte, the rival of Mike Defensor in the 2022 Quezon City Mayoral Race.
Gracio said he was disgusted with Delas Alas for supporting Defensor, a lawmaker who voted in favor of a report junking ABS-CBN’s bid for a new franchise in 2020. Delas Alas is a former ABS-CBN artist.
“Di man lang naisip ni Ai-Ai na si Defensor ang isa sa mga berdugo ng mga manggagawa ng ABS-CBN na naging dahilan kung bakit nawalan ng trabaho ang mga kasama niya sa industriya, sa estasyon na pinanggalingan niya. Nakakasuka siya,” Gracio said.

Defensor is an ally of UniTeam presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential candidate Sara Duterte.
Meanwhile, Delas Alas is among the celebrities who support UniTeam.
VinCentiments uploaded the parody campaign video, a Facebook page run by pro-Marcos film director Darryl Yap. The page has released numerous content attacking Vice President Leni Robredo.
Locals of Quezon City reacted to the ad, saying that they felt disrespected by it. Their reactions were even worse when they found out the video used the city’s logo.
