Xian Lim revealed he and Kim Chiu wanted to grow as a couple and as individuals in the entertainment industry at the media conference for False Positive on April 19, 2022.
Lim said he and Chiu accepted that they might have projects apart and together since they’re both actors.
“‘Yung sa amin kasi ni Kim, since we’re both in the entertainment industry, we already accepted the fact na marami kaming makakatrabahong–marami kaming projects na gagawin individually, and also together, hindi naman po namin kino-close ‘yung doors namin doon.
“Basically, ‘yung usapan kasi talaga namin, we want to grow individually and we want to grow as a couple. Kumbaga pwede namang pagsabayin ‘yun.”
He then talked about his thoughts on financial independence while in a relationship.
“I strongly believe na dapat pag-usapan ang lahat ng bagay at dapat plantsado lahat ‘yan before pumasok at you take that leap of faith. In having a baby or even in getting married, baka kasi pag hindi pa plantsado ang lahat.
“I mean iba-iba naman ang rason ng tao but I think na parang you don’t want ‘yung mga problema or ‘yung mga ganyang hurdles ay lumabas pag once nandoon na kayo sa point na ‘yun at magkakagulo kayo. It might shake up the relationship and it might be a chance na magkahiwalay pa kayo.”
He then recalled the speech he and Chiu heard from Steve Harvey about owning multiple bank accounts.
“I remember we both, hindi naman pinaguusapan, out of nowhere, we just brought up ‘yung sinabi ni Steve Harvey na every couple needs four bank accounts. I’m sure, may or may not agree, na one to pay the bills, one savings for the couple, and then one for you and one for her.”
He then stated that they don’t feel the pressure of getting married anytime soon.
“Wala namang pressure, and for– hindi ko naman po nararamdaman ‘yun.
“Basta ‘yung kasunduan namin, as long as nagmamahalan kami ng lubos, basta nagmamahalan kami that’s all that matters.”
He also said he doesn’t feel ready to be a Dad himself.
“Honestly, hindi pa po ako ready. Because I get–katulad nga ng sinabi Glaiza kanina, spiritually, physically hindi naman po ako ‘yun, pero spiritually, I think I need the proper mindset for it.”
As for their series, False Positive stars Glaiza de Castro and Xian Lim and premieres on May 2, 2022, on GMA Network’s Telebabad.
