Juliana Parizcova Segovia took to social media to call out Katips director Vince Tañada after the film hauled awards at the 2022 FAMAS Awards.
Out of the 17 nominations at the 70th FAMAS awards, Katips, the musical film bagged seven awards: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Musical Score, with Tañada winning Best Actor, Best Director, and sharing Best Original Song with composer Pipo Cifra.
In Segovia’s Facebook post on July 30, he shared a series of screenshot photos showing director Tañada’s connection with FAMAS.
He said that Tañada directed the 69th FAMAS awards ceremony in December 2021.
Congrats Haahahaha!”
The film Katips sheds light on the happenings during Martial Law under the late President Ferdinand Marcos’ administration. It premiered in the cinemas on August 3 along with another Marcos film Maid in Malacañang directed by Darryl Yap.
In Tañada’s interview with DZRH on August 2, he expressed his plans of suing Segovia following the comedian’s series of Facebook posts about Katips and MIM.
After the director mulls legal action against Juliana, the comedian deleted some of his Facebook posts comparing Katips and MIM.
