The reel-to-real couple sealed their dominance on the streaming giant’s local charts with two of their well-loved TV shows.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla continue to expand their domination beyond traditional television, as two of their TV shows reign supreme on Netflix Philippines’ Top 10 charts.
For this week (August 15-22), both 2 Good 2 Be True and Pangako Sa’Yo (internationally known as ‘The Promise’) remain in the Top 10, ranking 2nd and 10th spots among the most consumed contents in the country, respectively.
Currently airing on national TV, 2 Good 2 Be True has been on the chart for 15 consecutive weeks. It has held the number one spot several times already, although it is currently ranked second, overall. The series follows the story of Ali (Bernardo), a striving nurse-turned-personal-assistant, and Eloy (Daniel Padilla), an aspiring lawyer, whose paths crossed as the latter looked for answers behind his father’s imprisonment and his mother’s accidental death.
ABS-CBN’s reboot of its classic teleserye Pangako Sa’yo in 2015, meanwhile, has been charting for 28 consecutive weeks after debuting on the platform for nearly a year. The series is a retelling of the 2001 series of the same name, starred by Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa.
Another local series making a smash on Netflix’s local chart IS 2021’s highest-rated local drama, First Yaya aka First Nanny. The series which made Sanya Lopez a very promising star is currently 5th on the local Top TV shows chart. the series debuted on the platform 3 weeks ago. The heartwarming family series follows the story of melody (Lopez), a nanny who fell in love with her boss, the President of the Philippines. According to AGB Nielsen Philippines, the series peaked with a 24% people rating, making it the most watched Filipino TV drama of 2021.
