Andrea Brillantes revealed who made the ‘first move’ between her and Ricci Rivero in pursuing their relationship.
On her YouTube vlog on October 14, the 19-year-old actress answered some frequently asked questions about her relationship with Rivero.
When asked how she met her boyfriend, she said she first saw him at a club in Taguig.
“Una talaga na nagkita kami sa XYLO.
“Gala with friends. Galing kasi ako sa break-up noon. So, siyempre, ano’ng ginagawa ng mga tao? Lalabas sila. Pa-party with friends, iinom sila.”
Brillantes did not reveal who broke her heart at the time. Her last known relationship before Rivero was with her co-star Seth Fedelin. They were together for over two years, until they broke in October 2021.
Brillantes then revealed that her first impression of Rivero is someone who seemed so full of himself.
“Biglang lahat ng mga tao, ‘Hi, Ricci!’ Bati silang lahat! Ang-VIP naman ng lalaking ‘to. Hindi ko alam, party niya rin pala ‘yun.
“Hindi naman kailangan naman na mag-hi siya sa akin kasi artista ako. Wala naman akong paki sa ganu’n. Pero dahil tao ako… Sabi ko, ‘Ang yabang!’” she said.
When asked who between them made the first move, Rivero answered that he sent Brillantes a private message back when the latter was still starring in Kadenang Ginto, which aired from 2018 to 2020, but the actress never responded.
On the other hand, Brillantes said she messaged Rivero after their encounter at the aforementioned-Taguig club.
“Ang sabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘In-unfollow ko siya dati, i-follow ko nga ulit.’ Tapos nag-post siya ng astrology. Sabi ko, ‘Wow, you’re into astrology also!’ Kasi nga ‘diba, mahilig ako sa mga zodiac sign,” she brought it up.
The two exchanged messages for a couple of weeks. They did not talk consistently as they both had busy schedules.
They officially became a couple in April 9 this year after Rivero asked Brillantes to be his girlfriend right after winning a UAAP game.
