On September 15, at the media conference for Nakarehas na Puso with the press, including LionhearTV, Kapuso actor Edgar Allan Guzman highlighted that he’s at the stage of his life wherein he’s enjoying the fruits of his hardwork.
Guzman said he had already achieved his dreams when he entered showbiz.
“Nasa stage na ako ng ine-enjoy ko lang lahat ng pinaghirapan ko kasi half of my life, nasa showbiz ako. Nasa industry ako ng pag-aartista, ngayon, kumbaga na-achieve ko na, natupad ko na ‘yung mga pangarap ko and napakasaya ko ngayon, sobrang blessed ko, sobrang kumbaga, everyday may blessing si Lord na binibigay sa akin.
“And nandoon ako sa stage na, I’m just enjoying my life and hindi lang din dahil ine-enjoy ko siya, kumbaga shinashare ko din siya sa ibang tao.”
As for his role in his latest Kapuso project, he noted that it was his best bad boy role yet.
“Siguro I think pangatlong beses na may similarities ‘yung ganitong role ko. Pero this time kasi, itong role ko sa Nakarehas na Puso, it’s about family eh. ‘Yung past ko and ‘yung present ko, umiikot doon sa pamilya ko. Ang reason dito kaya ako naging–napunta sa ganitong buhay na basagulero, magnanakaw, it’s because ‘yung nangyari sa pamilya. So para sa akin, ito ‘yung pinaka the best kong role na ganito na napariwara, naging magnanakaw.”
He then detailed how he relates to his character, especially with how much he devotes himself to his family.
“Si Nero dito at si EA may similarities sila eh. Unang-una ‘yung pagmamahal sa pamilya. Alam ninyo naman po ako, very vocal ako pagdating sa pagmamahal ko sa pamilya ko. Ganon din si Nero dito. Talagang sa kapatid niya, ‘yung concern niya sa mga kapatid niya. Same with EA, pero ang isa sa mga pinagkaiba nila ay ‘yung napariwara siya. Kumbaga napunta siya sa dark side, sa dark na buhay, sa magulong buhay. Pero si EA naman po, ako bilang tao, hindi naman–kumbaga nasa tamang landas naman ako.
“And para sa akin siguro din ‘yung sa tatay ko din dito. ‘Yung love din and ‘yung respeto ni Nero sa kanyang tatay. Same din with EA na noong nabubuhay pa ‘yung Dad ko, sobrang–sobra ‘yung respeto ko para sa tatay ko.”
He began his showbiz career when he joined and won Eat Bulaga’s Mr. Pogi in 2006. He worked on various Kapuso series such as Daisy Siete, Dragon Lady, Heartful Cafe, and Widow’s Web.
As for their series, Guzman stars Nakarehas na Puso alongside Jean Garcia, Vaness Del Moral, Michelle Aldana, and Leandro Baldemor.
The cast includes Claire Castro, Glenda Garcia, Ashley Sarmiento, and Bryce Eusebio.
Nakarehas na Puso, directed by Gil Tejada, started airing this September 26 on GMA Afternoon Prime.
