On October 17, Kapuso host Kuya Kim Atienza commended Juancho Triviño’s portrayal of Padre Salvi in ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’
Through his Twitter account, Atienza wrote that Triviño was so effective at portraying his role in the Kapuso-Fantasy series that he got annoyed with his character.

Aside from acknowledging Atienza’s post, Triviño also expressed how much he enjoys taking on the role of Padre Salvi.

The scene the Kapuso host was referring to was the sequence from Noli Me Tangere wherein Padre Salvi inflicted physical abuse on the characters of Crispin and Basilio.
Salvi threatened the young brother’s mother for Crispin and Basilio to keep the beatings a secret.
The friar’s moment of repentance after inflicting violence against the young siblings triggered some netizens.
