As it kept the traditional Kapamilya Christmas Station ID feel and also embraced ingenious new ideas, Tayo Ang Ligaya Ng Isa’t Isa is a perfect fusion of the old and the new. The latter of which was largely achieved by the choice to give the jingle a gospel-inspired sound this year.
Unlike recent IDs, this one features most celebrities performing the official song. The previous two songs were notable for being recorded solely by Kapamilya singers and omitted the network’s prized actors.
Just like previous Kapamilya Christmas IDs, Tayo ang Ligaya Ng Isa’t Isa is a tribute to Filipino camaraderie, resiliency, and solidarity in times of crisis. It underscores the importance of coming together, and now that pandemic restrictions have eased, being able to become physically close and intimate again. That’s true in the sense that this Christmas ID sees the most A-list Kapamilya stars, as well as up-and-coming young Kapamilya talents, in one studio.
The composer of ‘Tayo Ang Ligaya Ng Isa’t Isa’ Jonathan Manalo, surely tried to be different from the creators of the past jingles.
That said, one must remember how past station IDs similarly gave an initially lukewarm reception, only to be loved dearly as more people absorbed its meaning.
