The two Idol Philippines season 1- alumni gave season 2 finalists advice on how to navigate their post-competition journey.

As two of the most remarkable, as well as the most visible alumni, from the first season of Idol Philippines, Fatima Lagueras a.k.a. FANA, and Anji Salvacion, have already experienced some of the bright and bad sides of being successful performers.

They shared with the previous season’s Top 12 finalists, some useful tips for handling the pressure and challenges that their juvenile career in music will likely bring. Among those challenges is the social media toxicity, that nearly every artist has to go through in their career.

Fana, who despite her popularity remains a target for bashers advised against reading negative comments at all.  She shared, “Hindi makakatulong sa mental health natin, at talagang mas maganda na at least naka-focus tayo sa singing, sa passion natin and hindi sa mga negative comments.”

Anji Salvacion, meanwhile, shared the secret of confronting bashers head-on.  She explained, “Sa akin naman, you don’t handle them, but you handle your reaction.” She shared with the hosts of “Magandang Buhay” Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Jolina Magdangal-Escueta, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, “What you can do, is show them that no matter how bashed you are, and no matter the negativity they’re throwing at you, just show them the positivity that you have and show them your success.”

Salvacion did not reach Idol Philippines’ grand finals, but she emerged victorious and won the most recent edition of Pinoy Big Brother.

The two alumni of ‘Idol Philippines’ also shared their tricks when getting confronted by stage fright.  FANA said she would pray and enjoy the performance each time she sets foot on the stage.  Salvacion similarly shared that she welcomes good pressure; it makes her do her best in all her performances.

As their parting words, FANA advised “not giving up” on one’s dreams while Salvacion highlighted having perseverance in pursuing your dreams.
