The Pinoy Big Brother alumnus made it to a long list of viewers who “were convinced” the show did not deliver.
Justin Dizon, one of Pinoy Big Brother Connect’s alumni, aired his thoughts on ABS-CBN’s TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s iconic superhero, Darna. The series first soared in August 2022, with many netizens and critics commending its impressive pilot week. After that, however, unflattering comments inundated the show, and it has since been enduring negative feedback. Now that it’s down to its last week on air, hope is thin that it will deliver a remarkable finale, somehow.
Among those who are probably looking forward to seeing a memorable final week is Dizon, who admitted that he has been following the series since it debuted on air.
“I watched the show since day 1 and I never missed an episode. I must say, pumanget talaga ang kwento,” he shared, agreeing to the common observations by netizens that the series deteriorated in quality over time. He also expressed his thoughts on how some characters either got sidelined or overutilized.
“It got so boring, ang daming unnecessary fillers, Ding got sidelined, at nasawapan ni Brian sina Darna at Valentina,” he added, noting how Ding (Zaijian Jaranilla), got overshadowed and Brian (Joshua Garcia), seemingly enjoyed as the bigger focus of the story than Jane de Leon’s Darna, heself.
“Hindi rin maganda ang VFX.It did not live up to the hype,” he shared, giving his final verdict.

Dizon also took his chance to clarify that he was merely expressing his genuine thoughts about the show, and was not just deliberately giving unflattering comments.
“Before someone comes for me, unahan ko na kayo — I am NOT bashing.I am just saying my observations as a viewer. In fact, isa ako sa mga super excited manood noon. Grabe kase yung hype at promo back then for the show pero ang underwhelming ng naging output,” he said, stating his disappointment for the show.

He set the record straight to refute possible accusations of him hating Joshua Garcia, who plays the role of Brian Robles, saying, “No hate intended for Joshua Garcia, okay? Magaling siya as Brian Robles. Sobrang dami lang talagang parts where the show became all about Brian and the cops. What I am saying is that nasawapan ng role niya sina Darna at Valentina. Again, this is Darna and not Brooklyn Nine-Nine,”

He then pointed out whom to pin the blame on, for the disappointing fate of the series.
“Okay last na…and I will be candid. Wala sa actors ang problema, okay? Aminin man nila o hindi, sumablay ang writers at producers dito,” his tweet reads.
