Despite the hype for last night’s episode, the Kapuso primetime series suffered its first loss in TV ratings versus its major rival show, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’.
The winning streak of ‘Voltes V Legacy’ since its May 8 pilot finally ended. According to Nielsen Philippines, rival show, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ won the 8:00 pm slot, by a very slim margin, 12.6 to 12.5.
Last night’s episode of the big-budgeted Kapuso primetime series, was highly-hyped and considered among the major battle highlights of the series. The episode saw the beginning of the major battle scene between the Voltes V robot and the Boazanian beast fighter, Dokugaga.
Voltes V Legacy’s defeat came after a two-week victory against the Coco Martin-starrer, which dominated the time slot for more than three months. One should not miss how FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ has kept its audience since premiering in February, despite losing to its new rival Kapuso show.
Will the Kapamilya action-drama sustain, much less widen, its lead over Voltes V Legacy, in the coming episodes?
That said, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ has also teased fans about a major development in its plot: the meeting of father and son, Ramon (Christopher De Leon) and Tanggol (Coco Martin).
