Viva artist Wilbert Ross recently released a music video for his single, ‘Nakangiti’ in which he stars alongside Yassi Pressman. He hopes to star in a film project with social media celebrity Zeinab Harake.
Charisma has brought ‘Hashtags’ member, TV personality, and singer Wilbert Ross, to interesting places in his career. These are ones not too many of his contemporaries could easily get to like he did in a few years. The pandemic years were the pivot point for Ross, who had a streak of streaming-only films, on the VOD platform, Vivamax. From being just one of the pretty boys who formed Showtime’s ‘Hashtags’, he took a 360-degree turn and rivaled the success of more popular Hashtags members, Ronnie Alonte, James Blake, and McCoy de Leon.
Now, he stars in his own web series, ‘Ang Lalaki Sa Likod ng Profile’, which is currently available on Puregold’s YouTube channel. Last May 18, the series had its long-awaited press conference at the Aling Puring’s Convention at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Ross expressed his excitement for starring in a one-of-a-kind series.
Ross also teased his fans and the press about his new music video. Ross collaborated with actress Yassi Pressman on a social media campaign late last year.
Recalling his joy over finally working with the lovable actress in a music video, he shared that it was he who both wrote the song and directed the music video.
“Yung ‘Langga’ may music video, ako rin ang nag-direk” he revealed, adding that Nakangiti, the music video in which he starred alongside Pressman, already marked his second time directing music videos.
Ross also shared about her friendship with social media superstar, Zeinab Harake, whom he hopes to work with soon.
“Happy ako sa kanya kanya kasi nagstart na siya mag-transition sa showbiz,” he said, sharing how he and Harake plan to work together on a movie project. “Sana matuloy na magkaroon kami ng movie.”
Asked if he’s happy now that Harake has started exploring possibilities in her career, especially in a movie, Ross said that he feels extremely happy for his friend. “Para iba naman. Kasi growth eh, kasi parang sa estado ni Zeianab, parang nasa kanya na lahat as an influencer. Naabot na niya lahat eh. Para ibang journey naman sa showbiz,” he added.
Ross stars ‘Ang Lalaki Sa Likod ng Profile’ with FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ star, Yukii Takahashi. Now on its 7th episode, the series is viewable worldwide on Puregold’s YouTube Channel.
