P-pop sensation BINI continues to ascend on the global stage as they were recently recognized by the Grammy website as one of the ’12 Rising Girl Groups,’ a prestigious acknowledgment highlighting their impact in the music industry.
This recognition not only affirms BINI’s influence but also underscores the growing prominence of P-pop (Pinoy pop) in the global music landscape.
The Grammy article celebrated the success of BINI, composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, recognizing them as a key figure in the P-pop movement. “Amid K-pop’s global domination, Filipino pop — commonly known as Pinoy pop, or simply ‘P-pop’ — is becoming one of the fastest-growing music markets,” the article stated. “Leading the revolution are the eight women of BINI.”
The group’s remarkable achievements were also highlighted, with the Grammy website commending their distinct blend of EDM-driven pop, fused with English and Tagalog lyrics. BINI was described as a trailblazer for Filipino acts, marking key milestones such as being the first Filipino group to enter Spotify’s Top Artist Global Chart and performing at the renowned KCON festival. “It’s no surprise they’ve been dubbed the ‘Nation’s Girl Group,’” the Grammy feature added.
BINI is the only Filipino group on the prestigious list, joining the ranks of globally recognized girl groups such as South Korean K-pop acts Kiss of Life (KIOF), ARTMS, and Unis. Other featured groups include multinational K-pop sensations VCHA and BLACKSWAN, as well as American girl groups Citizen Queen and SZNS. The list also includes British acts FLO and Say Now, Japan’s J-pop idol group NiziU, and Thailand’s T-pop group 4Eve, representing Southeast Asia alongside BINI.
This recognition by the Grammy further solidifies BINI’s standing as a leading force in the international music scene, inspiring fans worldwide and breaking barriers for Filipino artists.
