Actor Archie Alemania is now formally facing charges for Acts of Lasciviousness after the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City found a prima facie case against him.
The charge stems from a complaint filed by Kapuso actress-singer Rita Daniela in October 2024.
In a resolution reported by GMA Integrated News, prosecutors said there was “reasonable certainty of conviction” under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
According to the resolution, “Complainant was able to show how respondent touched, forcibly kissed her, and groped her breast… which showed lewd signs on his part.”
The prosecutor’s office further emphasized that Alemania’s denial and claim that he was merely joking were not supported by any evidence. “Denial is an inherently weak defense,” the resolution stated.
The alleged incident occurred on September 9, 2024, following a thanksgiving party hosted by Bea Alonzo for the cast of ‘Widows’ War’. Rita recounted that Alemania, who was reportedly intoxicated, insisted on driving her home despite her initial refusal.
Inside the car, Rita claimed that Alemania inappropriately touched her, and upon arriving at her residence, forcibly kissed her despite her resistance. She later received a text message from the actor apologizing and blaming his actions on alcohol.
Alemania submitted a counter-affidavit in December, denying the accusations. As of this writing, he has not issued any public statement regarding the formal charge.
