Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor Ejay Falcon has formally accepted his defeat in the race for representative of the province’s 2nd District, conceding to Congressman Alfonso “Boy” Umali Jr., who successfully retained his seat.
In a heartfelt Facebook post on Monday, May 13, Falcon thanked his supporters and acknowledged the decision of the voters.
Falcon expressed respect for the outcome and reaffirmed his commitment to public service despite returning to private life.
He also congratulated Rep. Umali on his victory: “Congratulations po!
Falcon, a former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ Teen Edition Plus winner turned actor-politician, served as vice governor of Oriental Mindoro beginning in 2022. Rather than seek re-election, he aimed to transition to Congress, bringing with him a background in entertainment, governance, and military service as a Philippine Air Force reservist.
Meanwhile, in other Oriental Mindoro election results, Jennifer Mindanao-Cruz, known to fans as actress Ina Alegre, secured a win as mayor of Pola town, running unopposed. Cruz is the wife of PAOCC Usec. Gilbert Cruz.
Singer-songwriter Lito Camo, however, fell short in his mayoral bid in the town of Bongabong.
Falcon ended his message with a note of optimism and gratitude: “Hindi po dito natatapos ang paglipad ni Ejay Falcon. Tuloy po tayo sa ating mga pangarap. Mahal na mahal ko po kayo.”
