Kapamilya actress Julia Montes has plenty to smile about—both on-screen and off.
The ‘Saving Grace’ lead star recently expressed her joy and pride over the international success of Filipino teleseryes, particularly ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ (internationally titled ‘Gangs of Manila’) and her own series, ‘Saving Grace’, which is set to premiere in Africa this September.
“Imagine, ibang country na-appreciate. Dapat tayong Filipino, mahalin pa natin kultura natin. ‘Wag natin bitawan, ‘wag natin pabayaan kasi ‘yun minamahal ng iba sa atin,” Julia said in a recent interview with ABS-CBN.
Currently airing across Africa, ‘FPJBQ’ continues to captivate foreign audiences. In June, Julia and longtime boyfriend Coco Martin are scheduled to fly to Kenya for a special visit to thank international fans — a historic first for ABS-CBN, which is bringing its stars to the continent.
“Nakaka-excite. Pasasalamat na rin iyon sa kanila kasi from the beginning, iba tumangkilik na,” she added.
For Julia, the global reception to Filipino dramas is a source of national pride.
“Kilala tayo bilang magaling gumawa ng teleserye. Ang sarap maging parte ng ganyang milestone ng isang company,” she said.
Beyond her growing international fanbase, Julia also stepped into a new role — entrepreneur.
On May 24, at an exclusive event held at Manila House in BGC, Julia was formally introduced as one of the owners and celebrity ambassadors of Swiss Proli Naturals, a wellness company offering LeanQuick gummies designed to support weight management, heart health, and fatty liver care.
The venture marks Julia’s first business endeavor, made in partnership with Pinky Tobiano, a chemist, cancer survivor, and wellness advocate, and Pinky’s daughters, Pianne and Karel Sinfuego.
“Fame is not permanent. I need something sustainable to leave a legacy to my name,” Julia shared, adding that this dream has been years in the making.
During the launch, Julia admitted she was overwhelmed with emotion.
“Nahihirapan akong mag-express ng happiness ko ngayon. We’re just so excited.”
A proud foodie, Julia said the product aligns with her lifestyle and values.

“As you know, mahilig akong kumain. My love language is cooking for my family. So talagang mahirap i-balance ang fitness and wellness journey.”
“I’m just proud to be part of Swiss Proli Naturals — promoting an easy and happy wellness journey. You can just take two gummies and you’re good to go, no water needed. It’s a healthy way to enjoy your fitness goals without pressure.”
Pinky Tobiano also emphasized the purpose behind the brand — to create health solutions that are accessible, enjoyable, and born from compassion and lived experience.
