The international recognition continues for GMA Pictures as two of its acclaimed films — ‘Firefly’ and ‘Green Bones’ — have been officially shortlisted at the upcoming 7th ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA), to be held from November 12 to 15 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Both films were directed by award-winning filmmaker Zig Dulay, whose storytelling brilliance has brought depth and prestige to GMA Pictures’ growing roster of cinematic achievements.
The inclusion of ‘Firefly’ and ‘Green Bones’ marks another milestone for GMA Pictures, with both films previously dominating local award circuits before capturing international attention.

‘Firefly’, which won Best Picture at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), has received numerous accolades for its heartfelt narrative about family, dreams, and hope.

Meanwhile, ‘Green Bones’ followed in its footsteps, earning the Best Picture award at the 2024 MMFF and gaining praise for its raw, emotional storytelling and social relevance.
The two titles join five other Filipino films in competition at AIFFA 2025, representing the strength and creativity of Philippine cinema in the Southeast Asian region.
