Former actress and TV host Amanda Page opened up about the real reason she suddenly left showbiz at the height of her career in 2001 — her involvement in an alleged sex video scandal that she described as the “most painful” and “most intense” controversy she ever faced.

In an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, Amanda admitted she was deeply hurt by how the issue exploded publicly without giving her a chance to defend herself.
“Allegedly, I was in a sex video. I think that one was the most painful because I think ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-ano… because it almost as if like, schadenfreude — people want to believe the worst about someone,” she said.
She added, “I felt like I wasn’t even given an opportunity really because it’s always like whatever’s negative out there is what people will always believe.”
Amanda also shared that even during her peak years, she already knew that entertainment was not her long-term path.
“Feeling ko, when I was in showbiz, that was never going to be my endgame. I always had a different endgame.”
“I was not going to grow old in showbiz. I was not going to stay in showbiz. I always knew going into it that this was just a portion of my life and that I was going to move on.”
Despite everything, she said she has no regrets about joining the industry.
Currently based in the United States, Amanda said she enjoys having a normal life away from the spotlight.
She now works as an administrator in her husband’s medical clinic.
“I love being just a normal person, having a normal life… doing day-to-day things, and having that anonymity.”
On returning to showbiz, she said she will “never say never,” but is content with where she is today.
Amanda expressed gratitude to three people who played significant roles in her career: Boss Vic del Rosario of Viva Films — “He gave me my first break.” Maribeth Bichara — “She’s been my mentor for so long and I got to do what I love because of her.” Fernando Poe Jr. — “I really enjoyed the time I had working with him and the break I got.”
Amanda starred in several films and TV programs, including: ‘Rizal in Dapitan’, ‘Ang Probinsyano’, ‘Tatsulok’, ‘Bubble Gang’, ‘T.G.I.S.’ and as an original host of ‘SOP’ with Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Vina Morales.
