Actress Julia Montes has confirmed that she and longtime partner Coco Martin are set to reunite on the big screen in a new film project slated for release this year.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s PUSH, Montes revealed that the upcoming movie marks another milestone for the CocoJul pairing, which has not headlined a romantic film together in more than a decade.
“May movie kaming gagawin rin ni Coco, so ayun. Isa rin ‘yun na excited ako na film kasi maganda yung istorya at looking forward talaga,” Montes shared, confirming that the project is expected to be released within the year.
The film will serve as the pair’s major big-screen reunion following their Netflix film ‘Pula’, which premiered in early 2024. Prior to that, their last romantic film together was ‘A Moment in Time’, making the upcoming project a long-awaited return for fans of their loveteam.
Aside from the movie, Montes also teased an upcoming television series that she described as a “dream project,” though details remain under wraps.
“May dream project ako na serye na gagawin soon. Pag pwede na namin i-announce sasabihin ko,” she said, hinting that an official announcement may come sooner than expected.
Montes recently starred in the 2024 drama series Saving Grace, which later gained international recognition after winning Best Adaptation of an Existing Format (Scripted) at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore. The accolade marked a strong comeback for the actress and set the stage for what she describes as an exciting 2026.
“This 2026, ang daming surprises,” Montes added.
Beyond acting, Montes continues to work closely with Martin behind the scenes. She currently serves as a co-producer of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, which Martin headlines and creatively leads.
In the same interview, Montes spoke about how their partnership extends to their business ventures, explaining that while Martin excels on the creative side, she helps manage practical matters.
“Ako ang masasabi ko kasi sobra talaga akong naa-amaze sa talent at sa gift na meron si Coco. Sa creative side, talagang siya sobrang forte niya ‘yon,” she said. “So yung mga finances, like mga numbers, instead na iisipin pa niya, ayun tinutulungan ko siya doon.”
