Dianne Medina refuted the claim that Rayver Cruz was the one who broke up with Janine Gutierrez.
On April 9, an article was published on facebook entailing Cruz was the one who ended the relationship.
“Fake news ‘to!” Medina commented.
“Hindi si Ray (Rayver) ang nakipagbreak. sana ayusin nila ang news nila kasi syempre people will judge Ray and I don’t want that. napakabait ng brother-in-law ko,” she added, defending her brother-in-law.
The information about Cruz ending the relationship was derived from Timmy Basil’s interview with Pilita Corrales, Gutierrez’s grandmother, which was posted on April 1 on YouTube.
Corrales said she heard from Gutierrez that Cruz initiated the breakup.
“Alam mo, I like Rayver. Me, too. I really don’t know what happened pero ang sinabi si Rayver ang umatras.
“‘Yun ang sabi niya (Janine)… ‘Mita, it’s Rayver.’ Then what can you do ‘di ba,” she said.
In February, during an interview with Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras, Cruz admitted that there was no third party involved in his separation from Gutierrez.
“Kapag nagmahal ka dapat marunong ka ring tumanggap ng sakit sa mga circumstances na pwedeng mangyari.
“Kinaklaro ko po na there was no third party involved specially from my end,” he said.
In November 2021, Cruz and Gutierrez’s relationship was rumored to have ended due to the former having an affair. Neither of them has disclosed a formal statement regarding their separation.
