Director Darryl Yap reacted to the statement of Director Vince Tañada regarding the ‘organic’ fans for his film ‘Katips.’
The film ‘Katips’ sheds light on the struggles of student activists during Martial law. It premiered in cinemas on August 3, the same day when the film ‘Maid in Malacañang’ was also released.

In Atty. Vince’s interview with TeleRadyo on August 5 shared that he was overwhelmed with the amount of support his film received in the cinemas.
“Ang lakas! Sobrang lakas namin. Nakakatuwa dahil noong unang araw pa lang namin sold-out na kami doon sa mga prime SM Malls…
“Dapat Aug 3 and 4 lang kami magpapalabas yung lang ang binigay ng SM sa amin kaya lang ngayon na-extend tayo hanggang may manonood daw talagang ipapalabas ang ‘Katips’ …talagang organic ‘tong nagpupuntahang mga tao sa mga sinehan.”
When one of the hosts asked if he gave bulk tickets for his film, Atty. Vince strongly denied this.
“Wala… wala kaming ganoon, Karmina. Kasi wala naman kaming pera eh… talagang organikong nagpupunta ang mga tao sa mga sinehan, kaya natutuwa kami…” he said.
Balita Online posted Director Vince Tañada’s statement on Facebook, wherein Director Darryl Yap left a comment.
“Hahaha! Hilamusan n’yo nga ‘yan. ahaha,” he said.
He seemed to disagree with the statements of the award-winning Director, Vince Tañada.
Meanwhile, Katips is said to have earned 41.8 million pesos on its opening day, beating Maid in Malacañang.
