Sheryn Regis’ current partner Mel De Guia responded to a netizen who claimed that Morissette Amon revived the song of Sheryn, ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw.’
The song is the theme song for the Kapamilya series The Broken Marriage Vow (TBMV). Sheryn Regis originally sang ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw’, but Morissette Amon sang it for that Kapamilya series.
In October 2022, one netizen then compared Amon and Regis saying that Regis made a lot of money because Amon revived her song.
As a response, Mel De Guia said her partner was never given the opportunity to promote the song. According to her, Regis agreed to have Amon sing her song for TBMV upon request from Star Music. De Guia reacted, “Ni release ni Sheryn yang kanta niya OCT 2021 then 2 months lang they decided na gawing theme song ng TBMV at ipakanta kay Morissette. Hindi pa napro-promote masyado ‘yung single dahil may schedule na tinatawag to promote. Hindi nabigyan ng pagkakataon si Sheryn in short.“
De Guia proudly quipped ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw’ contains the life story of Regis.
In her tweet on October 18, De Guia shared screenshots of her response to the netizen who criticized Regis.
