Held at the Fashion Hall of SM Megamall, the Galaxy Tab S was launched in an apartment-inspired set-up to showcase a space where consumers can have the liberty to explore the benefits of having a Galaxy Tab S, and see how it compares to other existing tablets. The apartment-inspired setup was established to showcase the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet and allow the consumers to experience its features and capabilities in a home-like setting.
The new Galaxy Tab S tablets sport displays of 2,560 pixels by 1,600 pixels, matching what’s found in the Pro series. The new tablets will also let people make calls when a Samsung phone is nearby and to unlock the device with a fingerprint. The tablets can support up to eight user profiles, so members of a household can get separate home screens simply by swiping their finger on the sensor.
Besides producing richer colours, AMOLED allows the Galaxy Tab S tablets to be thinner and use less power because screens typically don’t require backlighting. Samsung has the advantage of making its own screens, and the South Korean company can afford to reduce profit margins on tablets if that boosts volume and reduces costs on the screen-production business. What it learns from making tablet screens might even help it one day make affordable AMOLED television sets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S Apartment will be up from July 11 to 13. Buyers of the Galaxy Tab S at the venue during the said period will get a free Book Cover and a 3100mAh battery pack.
Additionally, from 10:00AM to 12:00NN on July 12, buyers will be treated to an exciting selection of freebies, which includes the Galaxy S5, NX Mini, Galaxy Gear 2 Neo, and other Samsung devices. In the Philippines, Samsung offers both the 8.4-inch and the 10.5-inch variants of the Galaxy Tab S, clad in Titanium Bronze chassis with LTE connectivity, full phone functionality, and 16GB onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD.
