The intense confrontation between Lino (Jericho Rosales) and Ace (Sam Milby) in last Thursday’s (October 25) episode of “Halik,” gripped both TV and online viewers as it recorded an all-time high rating of 27.1% according to Kantar Media.
In the emotionally-charged scene, Lino finally caught Jade (Yam Concepcion) and Ace in the act of cheating on him and Jacky (Yen Santos). Overcome with anger, Lino couldn’t help himself and punched Ace. It beat the 10.6% of rival program “Pamilya Roces.”
The series is also making waves online as it is now the most watched show on iWant TV, the streaming platform of ABS-CBN, having racked up 2.5 million weekly views. The show, among other top viewed TV series, helped drive up the number of active users on iWant TV to an all-time high of 1.2 million in three years.
Netizens are highly invested in the episode, and were tweeting with the hashtag #BistadongHalik, which became a trending topic on Twitter.
@smdeejhay16 tweeted that she has been waiting for this time to come, “Get your chips and drinks guys. The best part of tonight’s #Halik episode is about to come! #BistadongHalik”
Meanwhile, @K_Rhysm was all praises for Jericho, “Grabe ang luha ni Echo before he confronted Ace and Jade Wow na wow acting skills! #BistadongHalik”
@atmarianoxx, on the other hand, is wondering how Jacky will react, “Okay, tapos na si Lino! Can’t wait to Jackie’s bitter-sweet revenge #BistadongHalik”
