At the media conference of his public service program, Idol in Action, broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo revealed how he avoids YouTubers who may use his program for views and subscribers.
Raffy said that before they accept any complaint, their research team reviews the case. Even if it is a YouTuber or a regular netizen, Raffy’s team validates the complaints first.
“Bago namin tanggapin yung isang sumbong kahit di sya yung YouTuber or just a regular netizen yung may complaint, mayroon kaming research team. Diyan nga sila Kapitana Carol, Odette, marami sila. Pinagaaralan muna yung kaso, to make sure na nagsasabi sila ng totoo,” said Raffy.
He also added that his research team reviews make sure that there is a basis for every complaint. Once they see that they validated the complaint, they will air it on their program.
“Lahat ng sinasabi nilang sumbong nila ay mayroon naman talagang pagbabasehan. And when we see na talagang legit yung kanilang sumbong then fire, go, game,” Raffy added.
Then, he noted that they also refuse complaints once they see that the complaint has no basis.
“Pero pagnakita namin na medyo sablay. Then medyo umaatras kami. Tinatanggihan. Tumatanggi din kami. There are times na tumatanggi din kami,” said Raffy.
Raffy hosts the public service program Idol in Action, which is available through TV 5 and OnePH via Cignal TV and SatLite and will now air in their new timeslot Mondays-Fridays 10:30 AM. Their team hears out the complaint of people from all walks of life and provide resolutions to social injustices.
The masses dubbed Raffy as Hari ng Public Service, with his niche of public service and 20 years of broadcast journalist experience. To date, Raffy’s YouTube channel has over 16 million followers, while his official Facebook group has 3.4 million.
