On October 5, Kim Atienza shared the advice he received from Billy Crawford and Direk Bobet Vidanes about his transfer to GMA Network.

During the media conference for his Kapuso welcome, Atienza recalled his conversation with Crawford and Vidanes about his decision to transfer.

“Si Billy Crawford at Direk Bobet Vidanes. Alam mo, mahilig sa motor ‘yang dalawang ‘yan. Nag-motor kami, at nag-almusal kami doon. Wala pang final answer eh.”

Atienza then detailed Crawford and Vidanes’ advice, noting that they both supported his Kapuso transfer.

And, he gave me his– natuwa siya, natuwa silang pareho sa akin.

“Billy by the way is my inaanak also, ako ‘yung ninong ng bayan eh. Inaanak ko sila sa kasal nila Coleen [Garcia], because Coleen was with me for 6 years in Showtime and Billy as well, 6 years also.

Monday to Friday nandoon siya palagi eh. But sinabi niya, ‘that break is so good and you have to take it. You really have to take it.’

Atienza, Crawford, and Vidanes worked in the Kapamilya noontime program, It’s Showtime. Earlier, Crawford and Vidanes both transferred to different networks when ABS-CBN Shutdown in 2020 following the non-renewal of its franchise.

Atienza recently confirmed his transfer to GMA Network after 17 years of being a Kapamilya. Aside from his ‘It’s Showtime’ stint, he hosted various programs within the network, such as ‘Matanglawin’ and the weather report of TV Patrol.

With GMA Network, Atienza already has three shows lined up. According to reports, he will have a segment in 24 Oras and two shows, Mars Pa More and Dapat Alam Mo.
