Dubbed as Viva’s newest Box Office QueenAngeli Khang got delighted over the new monicker on Friday, May 13.
Khang’s previous film Silip sa Apoy was in Viva’s Top 10 in just three months. Apart from being Vivamax’s Box Office Queen, Viva Films’ president and CEO Vincent del Rosario called her the best newcomer.
In a press conference for her latest movie Pusoy, she said, “Sobrang nakakataba ng puso na ako yung napili ng Viva bilang box office star of the year and very thankful ako sa lahat ng umattend, sa lahat ng nag antay kahit sobrang late ko. And I hope na hindi lang ito yung isang beses.”
Khang admitted that she felt pressured going into her first physical press con. However, she felt incredibly honored to be given the chance to appear live in front of the press.
“At first, I feel pressured. Kasi since isa ako sa mga leading pero ako lang ang nandirito. After no’n, I feel happy na isa ako sa na-choose ng Viva; na I feel very blessed na naka-face-to-face na din ako for the first time.
“I feel very delighted na naka-face to face ko na din kayo, bumabalik na tayo sa normal and I hope dere-deretso na ‘to.”
In the meantime, her upcoming movie Pusoy will have its premiere on May 27. It is produced by renowned filmmaker Brillante Mendoza and is directed by critically-acclaimed director Philip Giordano.
Khang is part of its lead cast along with Vince Rillon, Baron Geisler, and Janelle Tee. Catch it only on Vivamax.
