Yana Fuentes does not believe that newbies like her should use their bodies as stepping stones to make a name for themselves in showbusiness.
“Well, hindi po ako naniniwala doon. Well, if you have a talent, why don’t you show your talent more than your body? ‘Yun po ang nasa isip ko,” said the 23-year-old half-Japanese beauty during the press preview of her movie Pula ang Kulay ng Gabi on September 8.
Fuentes clarified that although she has the utmost respect for sexy stars, she already told her management, AQ Prime Entertainment, that she will not bare it all in her projects.
“Well, I respect them pero I don’t have to sa sarili ko po. ‘Yun ang sinabi ko sa sarili ko na hindi ako magse-sexy.
“Opo. Kinausap ko si Atty. Aldwin [Alegre], si Sir RS [Francisco] na ito po talaga ang gusto kong maging image, ito po ang gusto kong maging laban dito sa showbiz,” explained the talent.
She also plans to become an action star someday and is already training for her dream role.
“In the future, gusto ko rin pong maging action star. Kaya nagii-start na rin akong mag-training ngayon. More on action, drama ang laban ko.”
Fuentes is joined by Aljur Abrenica, Zia Zamora, Rob Sy, Elijah Filamor, and award-winning actor Soliman Cruz in this crime thriller movie by Jojo Nadela.
Pula ang Kulay ng Gabi is already available for streaming on AQ Prime Stream since September 9.
