Tinder, the world’s most popular app for meeting new people, is bringing to the Philippines School of Swipe™ (www.schoolofswipe.com), its first-ever virtual crash course in online dating. Tailored for young adult singles looking to navigate modern-day dating, School of Swipe is a first-of-its-kind, fun dating starter kit; a one stop shop for everything you need to know about online dating.

First rolled out in Singapore and Spain this year, the Philippines is next to launch School of Swipe™. The initiative is brought to the country to help Pinoy singletons landi responsibly and build their confidence as they seek out new connections.

Young singletons remain unsure about how to start their dating journey and to know more about dating, Pinoy young adults reach out to their friends, or connect on virtual communities on social media. In fact, a survey conducted by Tinder this year revealed that 74% of Pinoy young adults aged 18-25 years old are excited to date while 68% feel hopeful about their dating future. Living in the early stages of their exploratory years, the survey further revealed that 44% of young singles are curious about the dating journey that awaits them.*

“School of Swipe™ is therefore an easy to use mobile-first wingmate which singletons can access anytime, anywhere. As the world’s largest dating app, Tinder wants young adult singles to feel more confident in their dating journeys, date smart and have a fun and safe dating experience.” said Papri Dev, APAC Communications Head at Tinder. It is an all-in-one guide for daters looking to make the most of the matching experience whilst also staying alert, both online and offline. The resource complements Tinder’s continuous in-app feature innovations and tutorials to make dating fun and safe for all young adults eager to connect with someone new.”

“Young people have resorted to their circle of friends or social media platforms to gain insights on how dating works. Sharing and listening to true love confession stories on radio and social media has become their outlet to freely express themselves and learn how to navigate the world of dating. I always get asked about how to date right and School of Swipe™ is a great place for them to start off their dating journey, ” said Vanessa “Coach Vee” Antonio, a dating coach and U.S. certified matchmaker based in Manila.

Pinoy young adults told Tinder about the different reasons they date today: 86% are looking for their itinadhana, 61% date to find their own happiness, and 43% date to find intimacy. They also shared that they are challenged by different factors that stop them from having a worthwhile dating experience. 43% told Tinder they feel awkward when dating and 23% are in need of help with ice breakers.*

School of Swipe™ has been built as an easily accessible dating starter kit where online dating is demystified with tips presented in a vibrant and fun way, focusing on common challenges shared amongst Pinoy daters. This starter kit aims to inspire and ignite a fun and safe dating experience for every young single looking to meet someone new. Featuring a series of how-to guides, School of Swipe™ walks daters through the entire journey of online dating: from setting up a profile to setting up the first date. Hopeful singles will find how-to tips to rock a good conversation, make a real-life connection and safely explore potential connections on Tinder for every mood and activity.

Filled with safety tips to remind young daters of the simple things they can do to interact safely and still have fun, School of Swipe™ is a handy virtual guide on how to landi responsibly. “Dating should be fun and meaningful, but it can be hard sometimes because we don’t always know what to say or do. School of Swipe™ is a great way for hopeful young Pinoy daters like me to navigate their dating journey, taking the pressure off. I think of it like your ate or kuya who knows what you need to know to have a fun and safe dating experience,” said a Tinder member from Manila.
