Kapuso actor Alden Richards is facing criticisms from disappointed AlDub fans after he posted a notice on his official Facebook page.
The backlash started on February 15, when Richards was hospitalized due to acute tonsillitis pharyngitis. A report by a hardcore fan and Philstar columnist Nora Calderon stated that the Pambansang Bae doesn’t allowed visitors on the hospital for some reasons.
However, there are some fans who had visited Richards at the hospital and posted their photos and videos in their Instagram accounts.
Some of the AlDub fans left enraged as they saw the post, causing a ‘fanwar’ within AlDub Nation. According to them, the people who had visited Alden were just his fans and actually haters of his reel partner Maine Mendoza. They also accused the “concerned” visitors of being “feelingeras” and have no respect for Richards’ privacy as a patient.
To make the situation worse, Richards took to Facebook to stop AlDub Nation from exchanging hurtful words towards one another.
His post, unedited:
And with GOD’s grace I’m recovering fast from my sickness (thank you for the prayers).
And please please plase STOP THE HATE.
Walang pong nakakapasok ng walang consent so kapag nakapasok meron ko pong consent.
Because of his post, fans couldn’t help but to express their disappointments over the actor. The top comments on his post showed how hurt the fans were, especially on his postscript (P.S.).
A fan named Ging David said stressed she was hurt by Richards’ post. David explained that they just wanted the actor to get a full rest. She also recalled how fans like her became foolish just to defend Richards.
Another fan named Josie Masadas commented that the actor should have not post his statement over the incident. She emphasized that Richards might be showing favoritism inside the AlDub Nation.
Criticisms from fans have been increasing as the issue becomes bigger.
Meanwhile, Mendoza had also suffered from fever and colds recently. The love team were becoming sicklier after the stressful week of shooting their debut series entitled “Destined to Be Yours” that will be airing on February 27.
