After Senator Koko Pimentel broke COVID-19 quarantine protocols and accompanied his wife to Makati Medical Center, a good number of people have had to go on self-quarantine in order to prevent the disease from spreading further.
Aside from medical professionals in Makati Medical Center who are now under a quarantine, S&R Price Club also had its employees quarantined when it was discovered that the Senator had gone shopping there days earlier.

Based on the official statement of S&R, the CCTV footage showed Pimentel checking out at the counter 13 last March 16, 2020 at S&R BGC. They also decided to take extra steps to disinfect their premises.

In line with this, netizens and personalities vented their anger over Pimentel’s careless actions.
Filipino filmmaker Kip Oebanda reiterated that a doctor died when the patient lied about his travel history. Pimentel’s trip to Makati Medical City and S&R has put countless employees and frontliners in danger.

Myka Lim from RITM strongly suggested Koko to stop lying while a netizen analyzed that Koko’s supposed quarantine stage should have end today March 26, 2020 but he disregarded protocol by going out in public.

If Koko started staying in March 11, as per his statement, then his 14 day quarantine period should only be ending later today.

Co-founder of HealthXPH Dr. Gia Sison urged netizens to sign the petition aiming to expel Koko Pimentel from the Senate.

A group of lawyers is now preparing criminal charges against Pimentel. This was confirmed by Attorney Rico Quicho.
Quicho stated: “He is not only an ordinary citizen. He is a senator of the republic. As a lawmaker, he should not be a lawbreaker. He could be prosecuted at this point, in fact to the extent that he could be detained for violation of the said law and the enhanced community quarantine protocols.”
